NIGERIA IS INTERESTING

This week has been a very eventful week in Nigeria. From the arrest of Senator Dino Melaye to the killings in Benue State.
In section 14, subsection 2(B) of the Nigerian Constitution, it was clearly stated that:

"The security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government".

Considering what is happening now in Benue state, in the North-east and even in other parts of the country, one begins to wonder what the purpose of this present government is.

Recall that last friday, gunmen allegedly in military camouflage attacked five villages in Saghev council in Benue State killing about 19 people. This was few hours after suspected herdsmen attacked a village in Gwer East Local Government of Benue State killing 19 people including two catholic priests.

This week more attacks have been carried out by gunmen leaving scores of people dead. Apart from the people killed, houses were also burnt and their source of livelihood destroyed.

Away from that, the news of Senator Dino Melaye's arrest is everywhere.

Dino who made news yesterday for trying to escape arrest has said that he would rather die than be taken into the custody of Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State who is his greatest enemy.

The senator is allegedly wanted for arms running charges and would be paraded alongside other criminals who mentioned him.

The drama keeps unfolding

My heart goes out to all the victims of the Benue killings. The reverend fathers who died while working in the vine yard of the Lord.

At this time the country is in turmoil. My prayer is that God redeems His people.

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.                                    Psalm 127:1
